New specialists for PRONATEC cocoa processing in Switzerland

Our new PRONATEC production facility in Beringen, Switzerland, gives us access to new technical options for tailor-made production. To that end, we have appointed several experienced experts in the fields of technology, production and quality and created more jobs in sales and marketing.

Thanks to our new cocoa processing plant in Beringen in the canton of Schaffhausen, we will be able to satisfy our customers’ many and diverse requirements even better. The small production batch sizes allow us to be very flexible and offer our customers bespoke solutions. That’s why we have brought in some new and highly specialised experts.

Closer to the customers and their needs

Having our own processing site means not only that we are nearer to our customers but also that we can meet their exacting demands more efficiently. Whether it’s a question of multi-certified semi-finished products, customised roasting profiles for unique single-origin creations or more accurate separation of batches: our new plant will focus on providing individual solutions for our customers. We can offer new services to meet their needs, such as more flexible time slots for delivering liquid cocoa mass and cocoa butter, and, by having our own laboratory and sensory testing panel, we can guarantee that products satisfy food safety and quality requirements before delivery.

Recruiting specialists for our new Swiss site

Installing the machinery, setting up the numerous control systems and coordinating the work of the whole plant is a highly complex task which we are currently performing in close cooperation with experienced partners. Our new production site is on track and we are engaged in an intensive recruitment process to find experienced experts in a number of different fields. Some of our new employees in engineering, production and food technology have already begun working in Beringen and have got off to a good start with us. In time, around 40 new jobs will be created at the new site. From about the middle of 2022, we will start to process the first organic cocoa beans into cocoa mass, cocoa butter and cocoa powder there.

Boosting the workforce at our headquarters in Winterthur

We have also recruited some experienced specialists for our head office in Winterthur, Switzerland, who will be working on quality management, sales, marketing and certification. Together, we hope to continue to offer our customers a competent and personal service, providing them with the best possible support in buying cocoa products, sugar, vanilla and spices directly from farmers.

As a company where apprentices are trained, we regard thorough education and training of our future Commercial Employees as a high priority. In August, Ainoa Marti completed her 3-year apprenticeship to obtain her Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training as Commercial Employee. We offer our warmest congratulations to Ainoa and are very pleased that she will be continuing to help us in the PRONATEC back office in Winterthur.
