General Meetings of smallholder organisations

Smallholder cooperatives with democratic structures and where all members have a say are an important prerequisite for Fairtrade. At the General Meetings, the members decide on the strategic direction of the cooperative and how the Fairtrade premiums should be used. They elect the executive members who are charged with implementing the strategy for their next term of office.
